Legendary actor Sunil Dutt was born on 6 June 1929 .  His parents named him Balraj Dutt And as soon as he started working in films, he was renamed Sunil Dutt. He was born in jalandhar’s Khurd area which is now a part of pakistan, When partition took place, after partition, he came to India from Pakistan.

After partition, Sunil Dutt’s family moved to Delhi and then his family moved to Lucknow. In Lucknow, he spent his childhood in the streets of Aminabad. He came to Mumbai from Lucknow to do his graduation and was studying at Jai Hind College and And he used to do a job to manage his pocket money and interesting fact about sunil dutt is that he was also a radio announcer . He presented many programs for Radio ceylon  And during his radio career, he interviewed actress Nargis.

In 1955, Sunil Dutt got his first break in film Railway Platform. Meanwhile, Mehboob Khan signed Sunil Dutt for the film Mother India where Nargis played the role of Sunil Dutt’s mother. During the shooting of this film, Nargis used to call Sunil Dutt as Birju. Nargis was saved by Sunil Dutt from fiery fire on the set of the film Mother India and this is the reason that they were married later . All of Sunil Dutt’s films in the 50s and 60s were hits such as Sadhana ,Sujata, mujhe jeene do ,khandan. This was also the time when Dutt’s association with BR chopra worked wonders and in 1968 he turned as film producer. He made a film called Mann Ka Meet and in this film he gave a break to his younger brother Somdutt And this is the same film in which Vinod Khanna also got a break as villain. Sunil Dutt gave Amitabh Bachchan a break in the film Reshma and Shera. Film

Reshma and Shera failed terribly at the box office .he was very upset and he had shortage of works. After this, he started his second innings and in his film Pran Jaye per vachan na jaye,  Naagin, Jani Dushman, he proved himself again.

Sunil Dutt’s Personal Life

Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt had 3 children, elder son Sanjay Dutt, who later became a very big actor, daughter Priya Dutt, who later became a member of Parliament and elder daughter Namrata married Kumar Gaurav. In 1984, Sunil Dutt joined the Congress Party and after that he started his political career and became a Member of Parliament. Government of India conferred him with Padma Shri. He was very active in politics as well as films and worked in the film parampara in 1992 and Kshatriya in 1993. Sunil Dutt launched his son Sanjay Dutt from the film Rocky and this film is the film that Sanjay Dutt became a superstar overnight after the release of the film. He was  awarded with the Filmfare Best Actor Award for the film Khandaan and muje jeena do. When Manmohan Singh was prime minister, Sunil Dutt was also a cabinet minister for youth affairs and sports.
