Raj Kapoor was born on 14 December 1924 in Peshawar, Pakistan. His father’s name was Prithviraj Kapoor, who was a great artist. Prithviraj Kapoor had 6 children in total. Only 4 out of 6 children survived. He was the eldest of his siblings. Later Raj Kapoor’s family migrated from Peshawar to Punjab. He got his early education at Colonel Brown Cambridge School (Dehradun). He started doing different theaters for acting and during this time Raj Kapoor also became a part of Prithvi theater and started acting.

Raj Kapoor’s Film Career
At the age of 10, Raj Kapoor was seen as a child artist in the film Inquilab, which was released in 1935. After this, he continued to work in many small and big films. He acted as Clapper Boy in director Kedar Sharma’s film. Raj Kapoor did not play his character well in this film, after this Kedar Sharma slapped him. Kedar Sharma felt very bad and after this he made a film with Raj Kapoor, its name was Neelkamal and the film was released in 1947. The film featured Madhubala & Raj Kapoor.
In 1948, Raj Kapoor was 24 years old and he decided to produce the film himself. Although Raj Kapoor did not have the money at that time, he took a loan from the bank and made the film. The name of the film was Aag. The film did not prove to be a superhit at the box office but Motivate Raj Kapoor to make further films. Raj Kapoor was also working as an actor and as a director.
He launches RK film and after film ‘Barsaat ‘ he bacame successful as a producer. He never looked back after this film and he continued to work as actor, director & producer. After this He started RK Film Studio. In the beginning RK Studio did not even have a roof. He continued to work and shoot day and night and gradually have a roof was erected in RK Studios. Raj Kapoor’s film was doing great business. He was producing several successful films like ‘Boot Polish’ and ‘Ab dilli dur nahin’.
In 1960 he decided that he would make a film that would be based on his life and he made the film Mera Naam Joker. The budget of this film was very high and many Bollywood actors worked in this film. He was famous all over the world, especially in China and Russia. A lot of Russian circus actors worked in the movie Mera Naam Joker. The film did not meet the expectations and the special thing of this film was that there were two intervals in this film, after this film, Raj Kapoor got a lot of shock and many things were auctioned.
But after that he told his writer team to write a story which will be based on the first part of mera naam joker. The hero of the film was Rishi Kapoor and the heroine of this film was Dimple Kapadia. The name of this film was Bobby and this film earned a lot at the box office and due to this film, Rishi Kapoor became a superstar overnight.
Raj Kapoor’s Personal Life
He was married to Krishna Khanna in 1946. He had three sons and two daughters. Elder son’s name Randhir Kapoor Second son’s name Rishi Kapoor and Younger son Rajiv Kapoor. Both of their daughters stayed away from films, although Raj Kapoor’s grand daughters proved that they can work in films and his elder daughter’s in law Babita and neetu singh were also from film industry.
Soon the time game when Raj Kapoor was supposed to get the Dada Saheb Phalke award at that time he was 63 years old and suffering from asthma .it was year 1988 before he could claim the award the present president of India himself came to him and Raj Kapoor became very ill while receiving the award. he was admitted in AIIMS Hospital Delhi but fate had planned something else for him. on 2nd June 1988 Raj Kapoor died
